About This Tour

Experience Sri Lanka on a private tour, designed for people who appreciate luxurious, private surroundings at their own pace for 7 days. This private journey will begin in Negombo, where you can choose a relaxing boutique stay. Then you will travel inland to the Hatton Tea Highlands to admire the reservoir view and experience life in Sri Lanka. Relax in Ella’s countryside, embark on an optional safari, and stay along the coast of Tangalle for 2 relaxing nights. Day 01Airport → Negombo | Boutique Arrival & Relaxation⌄

Your private tourist driver will greet you at Bandaranaike International Airport, then drive you to your chosen accommodation in Negombo.

After check-in, feel free to relax in the tropical gardens, use the swimming pool, or book an optional spa treatment.

Have a relaxed evening and dinner at the accommodation.

Day 02Negombo → Kitulgala → Hatton | Riverside Scenery & Tea Country Retreat⌄

After having your breakfast and checking out, you’ll travel towards Hatton and drive through the Kitulgala area.

You’ll stop along the way near the Kelani River to have a bite to eat, have a drink, and take some photos of the landscape. As you head further up the country to the central highlands, you’ll stop for lunch and watch the landscapes of the mountains transform in front of your eyes.

When you get to Hatton, check into your bungalow or retreat to wind down after your drive. You can spend the evening catching the views as you get ready for your next activity or wind down for the night.

Day 03Hatton → Castlereagh Reservoir | Ceylon Tea & Lakeside Experiences⌄

Take your time with breakfast, then head to the tea estate close by. If you want, a private tea visit can be set up. This may include a trip through the factory with a guide, plus a small tasting.

After that, go on around Castlereagh Reservoir. Pause at a few chosen lookouts and quiet scenic spots for photos and views. If your stay includes the right setup, you might have lunch with a view over the tea estates.

Make your way back to your retreat in the afternoon. The rest of the day is open. You can rest, have afternoon tea, read a book, or try an optional spa visit.

Day 04Hatton → Ella | Mountain Scenery & Secluded Nature Stay⌄

After breakfast, leave Hatton and head for Ella. You will pass through the hill country, and the views look great.

On the way, pause at a few viewpoint spots. Have lunch when it feels right, then continue on. After that, go to the nature lodge or small boutique place you picked. It sits in a calm, natural area.

When you arrive, use the afternoon to look around. Later, visit the Nine Arch Bridge.

In the evening, you can choose what you like. Stay in Ella town, or just relax at your place.

Day 05Ella → Udawalawe → Tangalle | Wildlife Encounter & Coastal Luxury⌄

Have a quick breakfast, then start the climb to Little Adam’s Peak. Once you reach the top, leave Ella and drive toward Udawalawe. Along the way, pause at Ravana Falls so you can take photos.

If you like wildlife, you can set up a private jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park. This can be done as an optional stop. After that, have lunch and keep going toward the south coast.

Reach Tangalle later in the day. Check into the beach resort or luxury villa you picked.

In the evening, keep your plans loose. You can sit near the sea, or just have dinner at your place.

Day 06Tangalle → Kalametiya Lagoon | Coastal Nature & Resort Leisure⌄

Start your day with a choice: join a birdwatching walk with a guide at Kalametiya Lagoon. If you would rather not, sleep in a bit and have a calm breakfast at your beachfront place.

If you go to the lagoon, then come back to the resort. The afternoon is yours. You can lounge at the pool, go to the beach if it is suitable, or book an optional spa session.

For your last night on the south coast, have a relaxed dinner with sea views. You may also eat at a nearby restaurant.

Day 07Tangalle → Bandaranaike International Airport | Private Departure⌄

Have breakfast, then take in your last look at Sri Lanka’s south coast. After that, you are ready to move on.

A private driver will bring you to Bandaranaike International Airport. You will use the Southern Expressway. We set the pickup and timing based on your departure flight. This leaves time for the drive and for check-in at the airport.

If your flight leaves very early, shift your final night to a place nearer to the airport.

Is Day 03 mostly free time in the Hatton tea country?

Yes. Day 03 is designed around an optional tea estate visit and reservoir viewpoints, with the afternoon free to enjoy the retreat. Optional guided estate activities depend on the property and availability.

Can we visit Nine Arch Bridge after reaching Ella on Day 04?

The itinerary schedules Nine Arch Bridge after arriving in Ella. The visit depends on your travel pace and arrival time; it can be shortened or adjusted with your driver.

Can we travel straight to Tangalle instead of taking the Udawalawe safari?

Yes. The jeep safari is optional. You can skip it and continue to Tangalle earlier for more beach or resort time. Safari jeep and park-entry costs are not in the displayed transport rate.

Can we arrange Kalametiya birdwatching from our Tangalle accommodation?

Yes. The Day 06 Kalametiya Lagoon visit is optional and depends on the weather, guiding arrangements and access conditions. We can help request a local birdwatching guide and confirm the additional cost.
