Which entrance should I use for Udawalawe National Park?

Many common tourist safaris start at the main entry to Udawalawe National Park. That entrance is by the 7th Mile Post on the Thanamalvila road. You can reach it from the Thimbolketiya area near Udawalawe.

There are other ways in too, like coming from the Handagiriya side. These options can take you along a different route. They may also work under different rules. Before you go, ask your safari operator which entrance you should use. This matters a lot if you are travelling alone or if you rely on map apps for directions.
