Where is Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home located?

Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, also called Ath Athuru Sevana, sits near Udawalawe National Park in southern Sri Lanka. It operates as its own elephant rehabilitation centre. The Department of Wildlife Conservation manages it.

You can reach the centre from the Udawalawe side. It is not far from the park’s main visitor gate. If you go there just to see the Transit Home, you do not have to buy a national park safari permit. So you can visit on your own.
