The best area to stay in Ella is along those uplifted ridges of Waterfall Road or Kital Ella, where you get spectacular views towards Ella Rock. Staying just a bit away from the main road usually keeps things calm, more restful, like you can hear yourself think.

The Ella town centre is really convenient for dining and transport too, but it can be rough with traffic noise and that packed backpacker party atmosphere. If you book a guesthouse on the hills around it, you get quick access to hiking routes and beautiful morning cloud inversions, plus you’re still able to reach the town restaurants in a short walk.
