What are the four main Devalayas associated with the Perahera?

The four main Devalayas, or shrines, are Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama, and Pattini, which stand in for the island’s principal guardian beings.

Each of these places organises its own procession, with the elephants, the drummers, and even its particular colour arrangements. During the festival, these four separate parades join together, coming behind the chief Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) procession.
