What Animals Can You See in Yala National Park?
Yala is home to Sri Lankan leopards, elephants, sloth bears, buffalo, deer, wild boar, monkeys, jackals, crocodiles, and other smaller animals too. On any one safari, what you see is mostly decided by how wildlife moves in the wild.
Sri Lanka Tourism lists 44 mammal species in Yala. The same source also notes the park is a key spot for elephants and leopards. Still, a good safari is not only about spotting leopards. You can also learn a lot from alarm calls, watch how elephants act, see deer groups, and notice the smaller species around you.
