Is Elephant Transit Home suitable for young children?

Yes, Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home works well for families that have young kids. The public viewing setup lets guests watch rescued elephants. You do not have to do a long or tough safari ride.

The feeding time can also help children learn about elephant rehab and efforts to protect wildlife. Adults must stay close and keep a close eye on small children. Please ask kids to speak softly and to keep a safe distance from the animals. If you can, arrive early. The viewing area can get crowded around feeding times.
