Is climbing Parrot Rock safe?

It’s generally safe during low tide, but you really have to pick your moment. If the tide is high or the sea is feeling rough, that path gets totally submerged or slammed by waves, which makes the whole climb pretty dangerous.

The access point is a man-made staircase right off the beach. It’s a quick, easy walk when the water is calm, but the situation changes fast. When the tide rises, those steps get slippery or battered by heavy surges. If the water looks like it’s reaching the base, or if waves are crashing over the walkway, just skip it. Trust your gut—if the sea looks unpredictable, it isn’t worth the risk.
