How long does it take to walk around Galle Fort?

If you walk the whole perimeter along the Galle Fort ramparts, it usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours at a leisurely, moderate pace.

The seaside walls stretch for about 3 kilometres in total. Most visitors then add 2 to 3 more hours to wander through the interior grid of cobblestone streets and narrow lanes, exploring Dutch colonial-era buildings, boutique stores, plus key points of interest such as the Galle Lighthouse and the Dutch Reformed Church.
