How is luggage transported during a motorcycle tour?
On Sri Lanka motorcycle tours, luggage is moved using panniers, top boxes, waterproof bags, or a support vehicle. The method depends on how the tour is set up. Some guided tour groups also move bigger suitcases between hotels. That means riders can start each day with less to carry.
Solo riders usually pack everything on the motorcycle. In that case, secure packing matters a lot. Weight also needs to stay even so the bike stays stable. Bags should be fastened well and not exceed the carrying limits given by the manufacturer.
Many organised tours include a van for bigger bags. Those bags go straight between places to stay, but this can vary by how many riders are in the group. Waterproof storage helps when tropical rain comes in fast.
Before you leave, confirm the luggage rules. Also check what storage space is available. Make sure you know if a support vehicle is part of your package.
