Do I need vaccines to visit Sri Lanka?

For visitors travelling to Sri Lanka directly from the UK, the US, or Europe, there are no legally required vaccinations. Still, travel health professionals highly recommend ensuring you are up to date on routine vaccines such as Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Hepatitis A. Typhoid vaccines are also strongly encouraged, especially if you plan to eat beyond the bigger international hotels.

You only need a Yellow Fever certificate when you arrive from, or pass through, a country where Yellow Fever is endemic. As for Rabies and Japanese Encephalitis, they should be considered if your stay is longer and includes more countryside time.
