Can You See Sloth Bears in Yala National Park?

Yes. Sloth bears can be found in Yala. Still, they do not show up as reliably as deer, buffalo, or monkeys. If you spot one, treat it as a rare wildlife moment. Do not expect it every time.

Sloth bears spend a lot of time in thick plant areas. Their movements can shift depending on what food is available. Sri Lanka Tourism lists the sloth bear as one of the key safari mammals in Sri Lanka. Staying calm helps more than running toward them. These bears can slip behind bushes fast.
