Can You See Elephants in Yala National Park?
Wild Sri Lankan elephants live across the Yala area. You may spot them during safari drives, but where they are and how easy they are to see can change. Group size also shifts. It depends on water, what food is around, and where the animals move in different seasons.
Yala has a big protected space. That lets elephants travel between habitats without much interference. Sri Lanka Tourism lists elephants as one of the main mammals in the park. Please do not ask a driver to stop and block an elephant’s route for a photo. This matters even more when there are calves nearby.
