Can visitors feed the baby elephants at Elephant Transit Home?

No. Guests cannot feed the baby elephants at Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home. Only trained staff handle the feeding. Each animal gets food based on its own nutritional plan and rehabilitation needs.

People watch the feeding from the public viewing section. Visitors do not take part in the feeding. Limiting close visitor contact matters. The centre works to prepare rescued elephants for later return to their natural surroundings.
