Can same-sex couples stay in guesthouses in Sri Lanka?

Same-sex couples can comfortably stay in local guesthouses and homestays, which often deliver some of the most authentic and strangely warm experiences on the island. Local hosts are mostly focused on showing off their culture and providing excellent service, almost as if it is a quiet duty.

While guesthouse owners tend to be more traditional than corporate hotel staff, their main aim is your ease. They will probably treat you as close friends who are travelling together. To keep things smooth with your host family, just use normal discretion and try not to show too much romantic behaviour in the shared living spaces.
