Can I trust international bank transfers to pay for my Sri Lanka trip?
International bank transfers (TT) are a secure and widely used way of paying registered travel agencies in Sri Lanka. You should only start transfers to corporate bank accounts that match the exact company name shown for the SLTDA-licensed business.
Even though it is fairly secure, bank transfers can take a few days to clear, and intermediary bank charges are common. Please ask for an official invoice that includes the company registration number before you send any funds. If a representative asks you to pay into a personal account or suggests an unsecured wire service, see it as a strong red flag.
