Can I get out of the jeep during an Udawalawe safari?

Ravana Tour Specialist October 1, 2026

Most visitors should stay in their safari jeep when moving through Udawalawe National Park. Getting out on your own is risky since elephants and other wild animals might be close to the vehicle.

If you need to leave the jeep, do it only where the park allows and only under the right conditions. Do not step outside to get nearer to an animal, to take a different picture, or to walk along a safari route unless the park staff who are in charge say it is okay.
