Are organized group trips to Sri Lanka more cost-effective for solo female travelers than planning everything independently?

For solo female travelers, organized group trips are rarely cheaper than doing it on your own, even if you might think it will be. They do bring a lot of value though, especially around safety, shared moments, and the significant logistical convenience. Going independently, using local buses and staying in hostels, is usually the most budget-friendly path.

Still, group itineraries bundle accommodation, transport, and attraction entry fees together, and that tends to push the total cost down a lot versus paying for a private taxi here and there, or trying to book a single-occupancy hotel room by yourself. Also, there is that built-in togetherness and quick reassurance that comes from traveling with a respected agency, so for many solo travelers the added price feels more than reasonable.
