About This Tour

Join this 13-day private trip through Sri Lanka’s culture, dramatic scenery, and scenic coastlines. Start with a night in Negombo, then head to Anuradhapura and walk through its ancient city. Then go on to Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of the island’s best-known sights. Next, visit the ancient temples in the Cultural Triangle.

After that, ride into Ella’s highlands. Spend time at viewpoints with big views, see waterfalls, and enjoy the wide green hills. From there, continue to the east coast. Arugam Bay is a calmer stop where the pace feels easier.

Later, head south towards Yala National Park, where you can join an optional wildlife safari. Finish with two quiet nights in Mirissa. You can spend time along Sri Lanka’s southern shore at your own speed, with the help of your private tourist driver.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are there two nights in Anuradhapura before the Cultural Triangle drive?
Days 02–03 keep you in Anuradhapura for the first monuments and an optional Mihintale side trip. On Day 04 you check out and continue to Dambulla and Sigiriya.
Can Polonnaruwa be explored without changing the Sigiriya hotel?
Yes. Day 05 visits Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Polonnaruwa, then returns to the same Sigiriya base. It is an active sightseeing day, so an early start is recommended.
How demanding is the Sigiriya–Kandy–Nuwara Eliya–Ella journey on Day 06?
It is one of the longest road transfers in this itinerary. Plan an early start, keep sightseeing breaks short, and expect to reach Ella in the evening. A slower itinerary would need an extra night.
What is optional on the second Arugam Bay day?
Day 09 can be a relaxed beach day. You may request a surfing session or a guided Pottuvil Lagoon boat visit for an additional charge, subject to conditions.
How does the Galle Fort excursion work while staying in Mirissa?
Day 12 is a return excursion: start in Mirissa, visit Weligama and Galle Fort, and return to Mirissa for the second overnight. Optional whale watching depends on season and sea conditions.
