Is Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home open on public holidays?

Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home usually accepts visitors on weekends and many public holidays, but entry depends on the day’s operating setup. Sometimes the access plan changes. For that reason, do not assume a public feeding session will happen unless you confirm it first.

If you are planning to visit on a major holiday, please check the latest opening hours and feeding details with the facility or the Department of Wildlife Conservation before you go. Occasionally, extra animal-care needs, maintenance work, or management decisions can also lead to public areas opening later or not opening at all.
