What animals can I see in Udawalawe besides elephants?
Besides elephants, Udawalawe National Park also has water buffalo, spotted deer, sambar deer, wild boar, crocodiles, jackals, monkeys, and many kinds of birds. What you see depends on how animals move through the area and on local habitat conditions.
Open grasslands give grazing mammals places to be seen. Wetlands and the edges of reservoirs often draw in waterbirds and reptiles. You may also spot rarer animals like leopards, but they are not guaranteed on every safari.
