Are Open Safari Jeeps Safe in Yala National Park?
Open safari jeeps can be safe if you stay inside the vehicle. Listen to the driver and keep a safe distance from wildlife. The open setup helps you see more, but it does not take away the danger that comes with wild animals.
Do not lean out far. Do not get out of the vehicle or act in a way that disturbs the animals. Also, do not ask the driver to come near elephants or other wildlife. Kids should be watched very closely at all times. A good driver will choose safe spacing and read the animals’ mood first, not chase the best view or the closest photo.
