Which Entrance Is Best for Yala National Park?

There is no single best Yala entrance for every visitor. Where you should enter depends on which block you plan to visit, where you stay, and which park access is open at the time. Because of that, your safari plan should guide your gate choice.

Palatupana serves the main Yala (Ruhunu) National Park area. DWC lists Katagamuwa as another access point. Galge is noted for Yala Block 5. Check the entrance before you book your accommodation. If you pick a place on the wrong side of Yala, you may end up with a long drive before the safari starts.
