How do National Guides differ from standard driver-guides?

National Guides are elite, highly qualified professionals, licensed to escort large tour parties in specialised coaches across the whole country. Meanwhile, standard chauffeur-guides are licensed to drive and also guide smaller private parties, for up to seven passengers.

To become a National Guide, you have to pass a demanding multi-year academic track managed by the SLTDA, with strong emphasis on history, archaeology, and biodiversity. Chauffeur-guides are wonderful for family holidays, but National Guides come with the advanced teaching and lesson planning abilities needed to handle the tangled routing and the mental demands of fifty-person coach buses.
