Can I bring drones into Sri Lanka through the airport?
You can bring a drone into Sri Lanka, yes, but it does require prior written approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) and the Ministry of Defence. If you don’t have those documents already approved before travel, then customs will confiscate your drone when you arrive.
If it gets confiscated, the drone will sit at the airport until you manage to get the needed clearances. That might take a few days, and it can really mess up your trip plan. For smoother handling, start your application with CAASL at least two weeks before your flight.
