How to get a jeep to Horton Plains?

Book a 4WD vehicle via your accommodation in Nuwara Eliya or Ohiya the night before your trek, because regular cars and local tuk-tuks cannot manage the steep, very degraded access roads that lead up to the national park entrance.

Most trips start around 5:00 AM so you can arrive at the park gates right as they open, and that timing is crucial for finishing the hike, plus getting good sightlines at World’s End before the mid-morning mist thickens and hides the valley.
