How high is Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada)?

Adam’s Peak, which people in the area call Sri Pada, rises to about 2,243 metres (7,359 feet) above sea level. It sits in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, a conical climb, and yes, it is the island’s fifth-tallest peak.

The usual pilgrimage is an arduous ascent over roughly 5,500 uneven stone steps. Most travellers go during the night. The plan is to reach the top just before dawn, so you can watch a dazzling sunrise and see the mountain’s perfectly triangular shadow spill across the nearby cloud forest. It looks really, really striking.
