What transportation options are available to reach the surf points?

The main way to get to the surf spots in Arugam Bay is the local tuk-tuk. Most tuk-tuks here are set up with custom roof racks, made to carry surfboards securely, without too much fuss.

These tuk-tuks feel cheap, reliable, and nimble for getting to far-off locations, stretching from Pottuvil Point up in the north all the way down to Okanda in the south. A lot of surfers go with a driver for a round trip, and they agree on one fixed price, then the driver stays on the beach and waits while the session runs. Another very common and more independent choice is renting a scooter, with a rack mounted to the side for the surfboard, so you can weave along the coastal roads by yourself.
