What types of waves are there at Main Point?

Main Point has that classic, really high-quality right-hand break where it comes down hard over an uneven coral and rock reef. The water moves quickly and powerfully, and you can sometimes get continuous rides that reach around 400 metres on the best swell days.

This wave is known for steep take-offs and quick, walling stretches, with the odd chance at hollow barrel moments. Since it breaks over a pretty shallow reef, it asks for technical skill, so it is strictly for intermediate to advanced surfers. The wave feels best with a south or southeast swell together with light offshore westerly winds.
