Daily Itinerary
Arrival in Little England Route
Route: Airport ➔ Nuwara EliyaArrive and transfer to a colonial-style bungalow or cottage in Nuwara Eliya. In the evening, take a stroll through Victoria Park, famous for its rare trees and migratory birds (like the Kashmir Flycatcher). Enjoy the chilly evening air. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
The Colonial Heritage Route
Route: City Tour & High TeaStart with a visit to the iconic Red Post Office, one of the oldest in the country. Walk past the Hill Club and the 130-year-old Golf Course. In the afternoon, dress up for a traditional High Tea at The Grand Hotel. Sit in the manicured lawn and enjoy scones, cream, and Ceylon tea in true British style. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
The 360-Degree View Route
Route: Nuwara Eliya ➔ Moon PlainsTravel to Moon Plains (Sandathenna), an Agricultural & Eco-tourism zone. Take a Jeep ride through the potato and vegetable fields to the viewpoint. On a clear day, you can see 9 of Sri Lanka’s highest peaks from this one spot. It is less crowded than World’s End and equally stunning. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Little New Zealand Route
Route: Nuwara Eliya ➔ AmbewelaDrive to Ambewela to visit the New Zealand Farm and the Wind Farm. See the Friesian cows grazing on green pastures, visit the milking stations, and taste fresh milk and cheese. The landscape here looks exactly like the European countryside. On the way back, stop at a Strawberry Farm to pick (and eat!) fresh strawberries. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
The Hidden Forest & Hill Route
Route: Galway’s Land ➔ Single Tree HillEarly morning visit to Galway’s Land National Park, a dense montane forest located right inside the city. It is a paradise for birdwatchers. In the evening, hike up Single Tree Hill (accessible via a tea estate road). It offers the best bird’s-eye view of Lake Gregory and the entire town, especially at sunset. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
The Widest Waterfall Route
Route: Nuwara Eliya ➔ Bomburu EllaDrive towards the Welimada border to find Bomburu Ella. Unlike other tall, thin falls, this is a collection of 10+ waterfalls that merge to create the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka. A scenic 2km trek through a forest takes you to the base of the fall where you can feel the icy spray. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
The Lake & Departure Route
Route: Gregory Lake ➔ AirportSpend the final morning by Lake Gregory. You can take a swan boat ride or ride a pony/horse along the bank. Proceed to the Airport via the scenic Ginigathhena road, passing the St. Clair’s and Devon viewpoints one last time.

Frequent Questions
Is Moon Plains better than World’s End?
They are different. World’s End is a 9km trek. Moon Plains is a Jeep ride. If you prefer a relaxed experience with equally stunning mountain views (and herds of wild buffalo/elk), Moon Plains is better and easier.
Is it very cold?
Yes, at night the temperature can drop to 10°C – 15°C. Most hotels provide heaters and thick blankets. Bring warm clothes.
What is special about Bomburu Ella?
It is not on the main tourist route. It is raw and powerful. You can get very close to the water (safely), and the hike is through a beautiful forest, unlike roadside waterfalls.
Can we buy fresh vegetables?
Yes! On Day 03 or 04, we can stop at the Nuwara Eliya Economic Center or a roadside stall where you can buy the freshest carrots, leeks, and potatoes in the country to take home.
Is the High Tea dress code strict?
It is “Smart Casual.” No shorts or flip-flops are allowed in the High Tea lawn area. It adds to the premium feel of the experience.
Why 7 Days?
Nuwara Eliya is a place to “chill.” 7 days allow you to visit the outlying attractions like Ambewela and Bomburu Ella without rushing, and still have time to sit by the fireplace and read a book.
