Will a Sri Lankan travel company assist with pet relocation for holidays?

Standard travel operators rarely help with pet relocation because Sri Lanka has very intricate and restrictive rules around animal quarantine. When someone is on a standard tourist holiday, local agencies strongly discourage bringing along pets, which really makes everything a bit harder than it sounds.

If you want to bring a dog or cat into the country, you need broad veterinary clearances, import permits from the Department of Animal Production and Health, and there may also be quarantine periods. In addition, very few Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA)-approved hotels or national parks allow animals on site, even if the request seems simple. Travellers are basically advised to keep pets at home, unless the intention is permanent relocation.
