How to hike to Bambarakanda Falls?

Take a bus or train to Kalupahana junction on the A4 highway, then you can walk or hire a tuk-tuk for the 5-kilometre paved road that goes towards the ticketing office. From the entrance, a nicely signposted 15-minute trail through pine forest leads straight to the main viewing platform.

If you are more adventurous, there is also an unmarked dirt path that is insanely steep, climbing from the foot all the way to the top rim of the falls. This upper way should be tried only in the dry season, because landslides and sudden flash floods make it risky during monsoon months.
