Can you scuba dive sunken shipwrecks in Sri Lanka?

Yes, Sri Lanka does provide really good shipwreck scuba diving, and the top dive spots are mostly in the waters just off Colombo, Hikkaduwa, and Trincomalee.

There is a deep maritime past here, so there are many reachable wrecks, from colonial-era boats to more modern freight carriers. Some of the most talked-about dives are the HMS Hermes aircraft carrier near Trincomalee, which suits experienced technical divers, and then also the SS Perseus plus the Conch farther in the southwest. What decides when to go is the season itself; the west side tends to be best from November to April, while the east side is the better choice from May to October.
