Arrive and transfer to a boutique hotel in the Hanthana or Anniewatte area. These areas are quiet and green, unlike the busy city center. Relax and enjoy the cool mountain breeze. Overnight in Kandy.

Route: City Tour
Full Day City Limits

Start the day with the morning “Thevava” (Ceremony) at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Visit the International Buddhist Museum behind the temple. In the evening, walk around the Kandy Lake and witness a Cultural Dance Show, but with a special “Backstage Access” to meet the drummers (if available). Overnight in Kandy.

The Forbidden Forest

Route: Udawatta Kele ➔ Garrison Cemetery
3 Hours Trekking

Trek through Udawatta Kele Sanctuary, the royal forest reserve located right behind the Temple of the Tooth. It is famous for huge liana creepers and birdwatching. Later, visit the British Garrison Cemetery to hear fascinating stories of colonial history from the caretaker. Overnight in Kandy.

Route: Kandy ➔ Hunnasgiriya ➔ Knuckles (Deanston)

Route: Mini World’s End Hike
3 Hours Nature Trail

Morning hike to Mini World’s End in Knuckles. The trail passes through pygmy forests and offers a stunning drop-off view. Swim in a natural rock pool (Thelgamu Oya) if water levels permit. Overnight in Knuckles Range.

Route: Knuckles ➔ Victoria Dam ➔ Digana
1.5 Hours 40 km

Drive down via the 18-hairpin bend road (optional scenic route) to the Victoria Dam viewpoint. See the massive arch dam and the reservoir. Check in to a golf resort or villa in Digana for a luxury break. Overnight in Digana/Kandy.

Route: Digana ➔ Hanthana Tea Museum

Return towards Kandy town. Visit the Ceylon Tea Museum in Hanthana. This is a restored 1925 tea factory that shows the history of James Taylor and tea machinery. Hike up to the Hanthana range viewpoint for a sunset over Kandy city. Overnight in Kandy.

Route: Nelligala ➔ Bahirawakanda

Visit the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre located on a mountain top with 360-degree views. It is a modern, peaceful site. Then visit the giant Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue that watches over the city. Overnight in Kandy.

Route: Kandy ➔ Pilimathalawa ➔ Airport
