Frequent Questions

What is the best time for the East Coast?

Trincomalee and Pasikuda are best visited from May to October when the sea is calmest, unlike the south coast.

Is Wilpattu better than Yala?

Wilpattu is less crowded and offers a unique landscape with natural lakes (“villus”). It is excellent for spotting leopards and bears in a quieter setting.

Can we swim in Pasikuda?

Yes, Pasikuda is famous for having one of the longest shallow coastlines in the world, making it very safe for swimming and walking far into the sea.

What is the dress code for Koneswaram Temple?

As with all temples in Sri Lanka, visitors must dress modestly, covering shoulders and knees. Footwear must be removed before entering.

How long is the drive from Pasikuda to Kandy?

It is a longer journey of approximately 4.5 to 5 hours, transitioning from the flat dry zone to the central hills.
