Frequent Questions

How cold does it get?

In Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains, temperatures can drop to 10°C – 15°C (50°F – 60°F), especially at night and early morning. We recommend bringing a warm jacket or pullover.

Is the Horton Plains trek difficult?

It is a moderate 9km loop on relatively flat terrain, but the high altitude can make it tiring for some. It usually takes 3-4 hours. Comfortable walking shoes are a must.

Why start Horton Plains so early?

We start at 5:30 AM because the “World’s End” view is often covered by mist after 10:00 AM. Starting early guarantees the best clear views and a higher chance of seeing Sambar Deer.

Can we do White Water Rafting?

Yes! On Day 04, when we stop in Kitulgala, you have the option to do White Water Rafting if time permits and you are up for the adventure. It takes about 1-2 hours.

Is the train ride guaranteed?

We try our best to book reserved seats. However, tickets sell out fast. If reserved seats are unavailable, we can either try for normal tickets or you can travel comfortably in the car with the driver, enjoying the road views instead.

Is this tour suitable for seniors?

Most of the tour is comfortable, but the Horton Plains trek (Day 03) and Little Adam’s Peak hike (Day 04) involve walking. Seniors can opt to relax at the hotel or enjoy a city tour instead of the hiking parts.
