Welcome to Paradise & River Safari
Route: Airport ➔ Balapitiya ➔ BentotaPick up from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). Proceed directly to the southern coast via the Expressway. En route, enjoy a scenic boat safari along the Madu River in Balapitiya, exploring mangroves and cinnamon islands. Check in to your beach resort in Bentota for relaxation and sunset views.
Turtles, Corals & Colonial Charms
Route: Bentota ➔ Hikkaduwa ➔ GalleAfter breakfast, visit the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Hatchery to see baby turtles. Stop at Hikkaduwa to view vibrant coral reefs (Glass bottom boat optional). Proceed to Galle. In the evening, walk through the historic Galle Dutch Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site), visiting the lighthouse, clock tower, and charming cobblestone streets.
The Golden South & Stilt Fishermen
Route: Galle ➔ Unawatuna ➔ MirissaRelax at the famous Unawatuna Beach in the morning. Visit the Japanese Peace Pagoda for a stunning ocean view. Drive towards Mirissa, stopping at Koggala to witness the iconic Stilt Fishermen. Check in to your hotel in Mirissa and enjoy the vibrant beach nightlife.
Giants of the Ocean
Route: Mirissa ➔ Weligama ➔ MirissaEarly morning start (6:00 AM) for an unforgettable Whale Watching expedition to spot Blue Whales and Dolphins. Return to the hotel for breakfast. In the afternoon, visit the famous “Coconut Tree Hill” for photos or try surfing at Weligama Bay.
City Vibes & Departure
Route: Mirissa ➔ Colombo ➔ AirportAfter a relaxed breakfast, take the Southern Expressway back towards Colombo. Enjoy a short city tour of Colombo (Independence Square, Lotus Tower, Pettah Market) for last-minute shopping. Transfer to the Airport for your departure flight.

What is the best time for this tour?
The best time for the Southern coast is from November to April. During these months, the sea is calm, perfect for swimming and whale watching, and the weather is sunny and dry.
Is this tour suitable for families with kids?
Absolutely. The distances between stops are short, and activities like the Turtle Hatchery, Boat Safari, and spending time on the beach are very kid-friendly.
Can we swim in the sea?
Yes, during the season (Nov-April), the ocean in Bentota, Unawatuna, and Mirissa is safe for swimming. However, always listen to the guidance of lifeguards and check the flags on the beach.
How long is the Whale Watching trip?
The boat trip usually takes about 3 to 5 hours, depending on how quickly whales are spotted. It starts early in the morning around 6:30 AM.
Is the drive from the Airport long?
No. Thanks to the Southern Expressway (E01), we can reach the first destination (Bentota) in just under 2 hours, making the journey very comfortable.
