Daily Itinerary
Arrival & The Rainforest Gateway
Route: Airport ➔ Kalutara ➔ SinharajaPick up from the Airport. Drive south towards the wet zone. Check into an eco-lodge bordering the Sinharaja Rainforest. Evening nature walk to spot endemic birds and amphibians.
Secrets of the Rainforest
Route: Sinharaja ➔ UdawalaweEarly morning trekking in Sinharaja Forest Reserve. Discover rare waterfalls, flora, and fauna. In the afternoon, transfer to Udawalawe. Check-in and relax by the reservoir.
Giants of the Savanna
Route: Udawalawe ➔ YalaMorning 4×4 Safari in Udawalawe National Park to see herds of elephants. Visit the Elephant Transit Home during feeding time (10:30 AM). Transfer to Yala/Tissamaharama for the night.
The Leopard’s Kingdom (Full Day)
Route: Yala National Park (Block 1 & 2)A dedicated day for Yala National Park. Morning game drive (6:00 AM) to track leopards. Return for lunch/rest. Evening game drive (3:00 PM) to spot Sloth Bears and crocodiles. (Optional: Full day safari with picnic lunch inside the park).
Lagoons & Coastal Drive
Route: Yala ➔ Bundala ➔ MirissaEarly morning bird watching safari at Bundala National Park (famous for migratory flamingos). Proceed along the coast to Mirissa. Evening leisure on the beach or sunset at Coconut Tree Hill.
Marine Giants & Colonial History
Route: Mirissa ➔ Galle ➔ UnawatunaEarly morning Whale Watching boat tour (Nov-April). Afterwards, visit the historic Galle Dutch Fort. Walk the ramparts and explore the colonial streets. Dinner at a fort cafe.
The Southern Expressway Home
Route: Galle ➔ Turtle Hatchery ➔ AirportVisit a Sea Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda or Habaraduwa to see conservation efforts. Take the Southern Expressway directly to the Airport for departure.

Frequent Questions
Is Sinharaja difficult to trek?
The main trails are moderate and suitable for most fitness levels. However, it can be slippery and leeches are common. We provide leech socks and recommend wearing good hiking shoes.
Can we do a full-day safari in Yala?
Yes. A full-day safari increases your chances of spotting a leopard. We can arrange a packed breakfast and lunch so you can stay inside the park from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
What happens if we don’t see Whales?
Nature is unpredictable. While Mirissa is one of the best places in the world for Blue Whales (especially Nov-April), sightings are not 100% guaranteed. However, dolphins are very commonly seen.
Is this tour malaria-free?
Yes, Sri Lanka is certified Malaria-free by the WHO. However, carrying mosquito repellent is recommended for the jungle areas.
Can we swim during the tour?
Yes, the hotels in Yala and Udawalawe usually have pools. Day 5 and 6 in Mirissa offer excellent opportunities for ocean swimming.
